OverviewThe R2R Laminator Slitter is a heavy-duty roll-to-roll converting platform that laminates, trims and rewinds printed rolls in a single continuous workflow. Configurable around web width, material and production process. Originally engineered for printed PET on self-adhesive PE foam and thin PVC, the platform is adaptable for a broad range of printed roll materials and converting requirements.
Three functions — one pass- 01 / Laminate — Apply protective films and functional layers in one workflow. Supports self-adhesive PE foam, thin PVC backing and protective laminates over UV-cured, latex, solvent and eco-solvent printed media. Adjustable, heatable laminating rollers handle a wide range of substrates and adhesive systems.
- 02 / Trim — Heavy-duty pneumatic shear-cut trimming designed to cleanly cut tough substrates (including thick PVC) without breaking, deforming or cracking material; delivers precise, consistent finished width directly off the line.
- 03 / Rewind — Automated web tension regulation via a closed feedback loop from unwind through lamination, trimming and rewind. Wide tension range with high torque on the unwind for rigid substrates and controlled, delicate handling at rewind to protect print and laminate quality.
Key features / labels- Roll-to-roll converting
- Heavy-duty shear-cut trimming
- Industrial grade
- Automated tension control
- Configurable platform
- PLC + HMI control
Applications- Print finishing & sticker production — Converting printed PVC, PET and self-adhesive vinyl onto self-adhesive PE foam or thin PVC for sticker, decal, vehicle wrap and industrial label production.
- Wide format & decorative roll media — Wallcoverings, canvas, banners and floor graphics; suitable for UV, latex, solvent and eco-solvent printed substrates with options for functional foam backing and protective lamination.
- Custom configuration — Platform configurable for specialty printed roll materials, technical substrates and bespoke converting setups that standard configurations don’t cover.
Built for downstream converting efficiencyIntegrating lamination, heavy-duty trimming and tension-controlled rewinding into a single continuous pass reduces handling, eliminates alignment errors between stations and produces finished rolls with consistent print quality, edge consistency and roll structure required by downstream processes.

Frequently asked questions (selected)- What is a roll-to-roll laminator? — A converting platform that combines lamination, heavy-duty shear-cut trimming and precision tension-controlled rewinding in a single continuous workflow; configurable for a wide range of printed roll materials.
- What materials can the R2R process? — Heavy-duty substrates such as printed PVC and PET on self-adhesive PE foam or thin PVC, UV-cured, latex, solvent and eco-solvent printed media, wallcoverings, canvas, banners, floor graphics, self-adhesive vinyl and specialty printed roll materials.
- What makes this machine heavy-duty? — High-torque industrial performance, a heavy-duty pneumatic shear-cut system and automated tension control across all winding positions to handle high mechanical forces while also accommodating delicate substrates.
- How does tension control work? — Automated web tension regulation through a closed feedback loop continuously detects and adjusts tension across unwind, lamination, trimming and rewind stages; the system provides high torque where needed and low-tension handling for delicate media.
- Can the R2R be customized? — Yes. The platform is configured around material type, web width and production process, including lamination setup, trimming configuration and tension parameters tuned to the substrate range.
- Warranty — A 5-year warranty applies where a service agreement is in place.
